Fireman switches allow emergency service responders to gain access to secured areas in any situation.
Fireman switches are often installed in public areas like blocks of flats or high-rise buildings to ensure access in cases of emergency. In some cases, they may be required for compliance to certain safety standards.

- Fascia Only: Featuring a clean and minimalistic fascia plate with attention-grabbing red engraving.
- Surface Mounting Housing: These switches feature a fascia plate mounted in a stainless steel housing.
- Surface Mounting Housing c/w Rain Hood: For fireman switches that need to be outside or exposed to rain.
- Flush Housing with Mitred Bezel: For seamless integration into walls and additional security.
- Optional double pole and latching micro-switches.

Key Profiles
Our fireman switches are designed to work with a range of standard British and European keys, which we also supply alongside our switches. Find out more about our Fireman Keys here.
- FS3 switches are compatible with KY3 Crescent keys.
- FS4 and FS5 switches are compatible with KY4 profiled drop keys, while KY5 drop keys only suit FS5 switches.
- Euro and oval keys are also available upon request.
- Lockable front cover plate for double security.
All switch units are available in either our standard sizes or made to suit an existing application, so the process of working with FSM to design your switch is always suited to your requirements.
Countering Abuse and Vandalism
In order to try and counter abuse and vandalism, our access control fascia is always made from a heavy gauge stainless steel, with micro switches and related bracketry attached to the rear face. The face plate is secured using our vandal resistant screws directly as fascia only or to pre-installed back boxes. We offer multiple choices for micro switch operating types, including:
- Single or double pole
- Momentary switches
- Latching switches
Custom Manufacturing
These are all produced in the same styles as door entry panels to allow for varying fitting requirements. Occasionally, we manufacture to customer specification: for example, the Greenwich emergency access switch combines the drop key mechanism with a Greenwich-specified key switch. All our units come with SPST micro-switches as standard with DPDT and latching as options.
