With the components in their flat state and with no obstructions or protrusions on their rear faces, they can be held on work surfaces to carry out any further operations or activities.
This pre-assembly stage generally applies to the front fascia panels of the various access control products we make. After any counter sinking or drilling operation, they are ready to be engraved and paint filled. They pass through our finishing machines to a 180 grit surface finish. At times a finer grain is required. We can go as low as 240 grit without buying in special abrasive belts. Any mirror polishing of brass or stainless, anodising of aluminium or any other decorative finishes are carried out at this time.
Once these procedures are completed, the component parts are ready for etching, stud welding and brailling prior to progressing to the final assembly part of the process.
