FSM Manufacturing was approached by London-based furniture designer Alexandra Gerber and invited to cooperate in a program to produce three, artistically designed aluminium benches.
The benches were ultimately for a Paris-based artist and were to be publicly displayed at the Centre for Contemporary Arts which is run by the ‘Fondation des Artistes’(MABA) in Paris. The display was to form part of an exhibition by renowned French Art Director and Artist, Alice Gavin, to run from September through to December 2023. Alice has previously worked as an associate artist for the National Ballet of Marseille direction (LA)HORDE and she also, includes Nike, as one of her many clients.
FSM and Alexandra Gerber worked together and produced three complicated but practical designs with FSM addressing the considerable production challenges which involved converting unusual concepts into fully engineered creations. The impressive designs went into production at FSM in August and were delivered to Paris in early September.

To date, several thousand visitors have seen the bench exhibits as part of the wider exhibition which has been received with acclaim and FSM have appreciated the opportunity to cooperate as a trio achieving yet another successful project. The Bench photography is by Devin Blair.
