At that time, illuminating push buttons were extremely expensive and vulnerable to abuse. FSM developed an illuminated push button allowing it to be visible by all.
By fitting the LED from the rear of the button head and protecting the front with an integrated polycarbonate lens, the push to exit device retained it's vandal resistant integrity making it suitable in potentially hostile environments. Value engineering, brought the completed unit within budgets.
FSM has designed and developed a number of different styles of devices aimed at countering abuse and vandalism yet retaining functionality. We have a unique range of push buttons with flush stainless steel faces and protective sleeves or DDA compliant with yellow or blue tactile sleeves. These are rear fixed on to face plates and supplied as fascia only or attached to back boxes with our vandal resistant screws. DDA units include braille. Generally made from 316 grade stainless steel but they can be made from brass or aluminium with whatever finish is desired and achievable.
